King Tut — Egyptian Street Food
King Tut in Brecksville serves bold, soulful Egyptian street food — a vibrant, tradition-driven detour from the usual Cleveland rotation.
TONY'S ROVING REPORT
If you're craving something bold, soulful, and completely different from the usual Cleveland dining rotation, King Tut – Egyptian Street Food in Brecksville is a hidden gem. From the first bite, you can tell this is food made with tradition and intention — every dish bursting with flavor, layered with warm spices and that unmistakable Mediterranean comfort.
The Vegetarian Falafel was a favorite: crispy on the outside, warm and soft inside, paired with a creamy tahini sauce that pulled everything together. The Grape Leaves, served hot and stuffed with ground beef, were rich, savory, and deeply satisfying — slow-cooked seasoning in every bite, homemade in the best way. The Fava Bean Foule plate was bright and tangy with lemon and parsley, earthy beans balanced with citrus, both grounding and refreshing. The Red Lentil Soup was comforting and hearty without being heavy — the kind of soup that feels nourishing from the inside out.
The boiled and pan-fried eggs are a completely different experience than what most people are used to — a humble dish elevated by technique and flavor. And dessert? The Konafa is an absolute must-try: traditional Egyptian pastry made with delicate filo dough and cream, soaked lightly in syrup, like a cross between flan and pancakes — soft, slightly crisp, sweet but not overwhelming. We finished with Egyptian coffee, bold and aromatic, the perfect ending to a meal that feels like a culinary trip to Cairo without leaving Brecksville.
This is not fast food — it's street food elevated with tradition and flavor. Highly recommend.
